This restored, 200 years old building is located at Lamu
Town seafront. The hotel consists of two adjacent buildings.
You can rent either a complete house or
individual rooms as in a hotel. Each house accommodates
10 to 12 persons in five separate bedrooms, and also has a living
room opening to a plunge pool and a courtyart,
a rooftop terrace overlooking Old Stone Town and the sea, and a
kitchen.
Each room is different furnitured
and has its own atmosphere, all spacious and comfortable, with luxury
ensuite bathrooms, dressing area and a private verandah.
Guests can enjoy international and swahili
cuisine cooked by the chefs to your wishes. Alcoholic
beverages are available at Lamu House with a selection
of wines, spirits and beers on offer to both hotel and house guests.
The Lamu House experience
is unique in offering clients access to two private dhows. These
traditional boats have been restored in detail, authenticity and
your comfort and provide a wonderful way to explore Lamu Island
archipelago in style and comfort. They are crewed by experienced
Swahili sailors and whether a sundown sail, a day trip or a longer
excursion is booked you will be offered delicious food, ample refreshments
and a wonderful experience. The dhows have snorkelling gear on board,
and the Lamu House team will help you organise
trips to explore the islands.
