Olonana is an elegant tented lodge situated on the banks of the picturesque Mara River, in the heart of the Masai Mara. This setting with the proximity of the river and its resident hippo and crocodile population offers wide opportunities for safari adventures. In addition to big game viewing in the Masai Mara Reserve, visitors are offered a rare glimpse of the day-to-day lives of the Maasai people in the adjacent Maasai village or 'engang', a close cultural experience with the Maasai people living here. Olonana boasts 12 spacious permanent tented pavilions, each attended by a personal butler and all placed to offer maximum privacy and tranquillity. Each tent is tastefully furnitured with two comfortable queen-size beds, ensuite bathrooms with showers, and large terraces overviewing the river. Enjoy a sundowner, cozily seated on your verandah, while watching the hippo in the Mara River. Traditional food, which can be served al fresco, is cooked by trained chefs and for those needing an informal lunch there is even a pizza oven on a restaurant deck overlooking the river.
