Samburu Serena Lodge is situated
on the south banks of the Uaso Nyiro River, just outside the Buffalo
Springs Reserve, in the lowlands beneath Mount Kenya. It is ideally
placed for Safaris to the neighbouring Buffalo Springs and Shaba
National Reserve. The lodge blend seamlessly
with the neighbouring environment of soft green acacia woodlands
and the river, whilst the architectural style uses local materials
and traditional Samburu building motifs.
Samburu Serena Lodge boasts a
wide choice of accommodation all facing the river, spread up and
down the river in cottages, bandas and single or twin rooms. There
are 62 rooms which have been built using exotic African woods. All
guest rooms have private verandas with uninterrupted views of the
languid river and the wildlife it attracts, as well as the countless
crocodiles that make the waters their home.
The dining room is open on the
riverside with long tables and large buffets, the Crocodile
Bar overhangs the water and is a great view point for the
nightly feeding of the crocodiles, the Pool Bar,
with upper and lower terraces, offers also a wide range of selections.
